Meeting Reminders and Armenian Genocide Commemoration
April 22, 2020 Dear sisters and brothers, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Usually, we trust God with our eternal life, but do we trust Him with our daily life? Deep down we often direct our disappointments toward God, thinking somehow, He let us down. Trust is a decision, not a feeling! Trust begins by making an irrevocable decision to believe God's Word. In times like the present, we need encouraging reminders to set our eyes not on the world, nor on the media but on our loving and caring God. Psalm 23 reminds us that. - God is enough to meet our needs. (v. 1) God is enough to give us rest. (v. 2) God is enough to guide our steps. (v. 3) God is enough to calm our fears. (v.4) God is enough to heal our hurts. (v.5) God is enough to secure our future.(v.6) But we have to remember that Psalm 23 is a personal Psalm – The LORD Is My SHEPHERD. Therefore, we are called to personalize this Psalm with dedicated faith, devoted prayer and unwavering trust. Due to “Stay at Home” situation, we are continuing our ministries by Zoom, Facebook and by phone calls (24/7). Therefore, beside the Facebook, you are all invited to scheduled Zoom meetings. 1- Topic: Spiritual Meditation and Prayer Time: Wednesday, Apr 22, 2020 at 07:00 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada) Join Zoom Meeting https://us04web.zoom.us/j/4892984946?pwd=NGJHclRaK1lPQk13czJjUFloSTdodz09 Meeting ID: 489 298 4946 Password: 309649 2- Topic: Spiritual Meditation and Prayer Time: Thursday, Apr 23, 2020 at 07:00 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada) Join Zoom Meeting https://us04web.zoom.us/j/4892984946?pwd=NGJHclRaK1lPQk13czJjUFloSTdodz09 Meeting ID: 489 298 4946 Password: 309649 3. VIP Reminder: April 24, 1915 – April 24, 2020
Friday is April 24 and this year is the105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide (1915-2020). Although, we will not be able to “March for Justice” or have any other type of gatherings or commemorations, but we are called not only to remember the Armenian Genocide as the First Genocide of the 20th Century, but as faithful Armenians we are called to keep telling, teaching and informing the new generation, our children and grandchildren, our friends and neighbors, about our ancestors, their dedicated faith, rich heritage, history and keep demanding justice. Practically speaking. -
a. Pray and thank God that through His miracles He raised us from the desert of Deir Zor (Syria) and today we are alive because of Him and the help of all those that helped the survivors.
b. Light a candle and count God’s blessings, even during this “Stay at Home” situation, count your blessings and remember, that our ancestors were not able to find a drop of water or a piece of bread to survive and of course no shelter to sleep peacefully.
c. Find out your ancestor’s history, write it and share it with your family, neighbors and friends.
d. Read an Armenian book or an English book about Armenians and share it with your family, neighbors and friends. If you don’t have a book at home, let me know or thank God for the Internet.
e. Watch a movie about the Armenian Genocide or listen to an Armenian hymns, songs, poems or music and share it with your family, neighbors and friends. Again, thank God for the Internet.
f. Donate to 1915NeverAgain.org and thank God for the American people’s dedicated help during the Genocide and help a needy family in our nation. (Donations Matched 20 MEALS PER $1).
g. Remember, our ancestors died but they kept the Christ centered faith and the Armenian identity and heritage. Therefore, we are called to be faithful to the legacy of our parents, grandparents and ancestors.
