May Greetings
May 6, 2020 Dear sisters and brothers, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Three weeks ago I saw a report from Italy on Coronavirus situation. A priest showed his church and the church benches were empty. But each location was a photograph. People had sent their photos so that the priest would not feel so alone, so that they would still be “in place” when the bells of the Church rang. I have to admit that I was so touched and moved by this. Beloved, I imagine that all of you sitting in the benches of our/your Church, Armenian Cilicia Evangelical Church- often, sometimes, and every now and then. I see your faces in front of me. I miss seeing you for real; I miss the church service with you, to worship with you, to share the Gospel with you, to share the Holy Communion with you and to have fellowship with you. But be sure that I pray, everyday, for you all, congregation and friends, of Cilicia Church. In other words, every single day you are in my thoughts and prayers. God willing, on Sunday May 10, at 11:00, I will be at Church, celebrating Mother’s Day and delivering Mother’s Day sermon and prayer. Unfortunately, another Sunday and you will not be present physically and especially this Sunday, you will not be able to get Mother’s Day roses. But remember, at the benches of the Sanctuary there is a face, a picture (not a photo) of you, feeling like you want a place in your Church. That place is yours and it is waiting for you and Mother’s Day roses are waiting for you, too. While we wait, we have to continue to pray for each other, for our community, for our nation and for the whole world. We have to pray for the sick and the struggling ones, for healthcare professionals, doctors and nurses, for all who are scared and worried, who are hopeless, depressed and panicked. Remember and don’t worry, God was, is and will be with us. Let’s continue trusting Him. Due to “Stay at Home” situation, we are continuing our ministries by phone calls (24 / 7), Zoom, Facebook, Church Website, YouTube, and ICFN TV ministry. Therefore, beside the Facebook, you are all invited to scheduled Zoom meetings. 1.
